SM shopping malls and the Filipinos

Kakwentuhan ko yung taxi driver kanina, our subject eh yung current state of Baguio- he told me na minsan lang siya napunta sa loob ng SM City Baguio- he never really enjoyed being inside the place- it made him feel small.

He would rather go near a river- everything is free for people like him.

Deep inside--- I know, he is luckier than most people for understanding this principle.

Some people think--going inside a shopping mall and buying luxurious goods is everything- they don't understand the simplicity and happiness this taxi driver has.

In between, he was a very jolly man- he seems to know his life priorities.

Philippines School System

Change the way we educate children in school- change our school system- if you want to change the Philippines.

If most of the people running the country came from this kind of school system--a factory like setting- no amount of protest rallies will change the way we live.

Change the way information is being spread and understood first before anything else.

You can't expect to change a country that is misinformed.

Tagalog Quotes and Sayings

Sa telenovela mababait yung mga Pangit-- sa totoong buhay kung sino pa ang pangit-- siya rin ang may pangit na ugali.
Someone once told me,madalas mas mababait ang magaganda o mataas ang pinag-aralan--because they have been treated well by the society=
Although there is no scientific fact for this- I believe this to be true in my own life.
Kung sino yung barkada kong may itsura, maganda, pogi, may utak--they usually prove to be good people and don't give others a hard time- this is because they are less likely to feel insecure- while yes Vain yung iba minsan--they don't feel the need to compete.

Whereas yung mga nakikilala ko na di gaano nabiyayaan physically--or yung mga hindi naka pag aral ng mabuti--they are usually the ones who attack and have more reasons to hate others because they have not experienced very good treatment from others.

I am not saying this is a fact--I am just saying I have witnessed this in my own life and own personal connections

Graduation

I got a glimpse of my graduation picture way back in 2009 and smiled--how naive, how innocent.

So many people congratulate New graduates- we applaud them, we put all kinds of distinction and ribbons.

Looking back at my graduation photo I realized that I knew nothing then and I still don't know anything that I can be sure about at this moment.

Life is always a mystery--the moment you thought you get the message--it eludes you over and over again.

The moment you thought you have accomplished something--it lets you stumble- it kicks you in the gut and smiles at you..

Silly...we are silly for thinking that a Graduation Cap and a Toga means something in this world.

Perhaps we should not be celebrating that early---the gratification never comes--it never will...such is the rule of life.

Thoughts on Philippines and Religion

How about--not professing that any religion is right, how about stating that no one church is going to claim they are the real and only church that is going to be saved- how about no one claiming that only their religious book is right while the others are all wrong.

How about we start from scratch- where no one can claim they are righteous above others- how about us keeping our experience of the Divine to ourselves.

How about no proclaiming of human Saints--how about just learning to live a good life, extending your help to those who need it--how about that?
